Aizwal, July 14 -- Authorities on Monday destroyed narcotic drugs worth Rs. 70.70 lakh that had been seized by Serchhip Police in seven cases registered during the 2025-26 financial year.

The drug disposal exercise was carried out at the Serchhip Police Station under the supervision of Serchhip District Drugs Disposal Committee Chairman Gavit Gogna after all mandatory legal procedures were completed, officials said.

The destroyed contraband included 220 grams of heroin and 89 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, Mizoram Police said they have seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances worth more than Rs. 414.66 crore and arrested 312 people, including 57 foreign nationals, during the first six months of 2026.
