Aizawl, Oct. 3 -- The Mizoram government on Friday announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh each for Indian women's hockey players Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi for their contribution to the team's gold medal-winning performance at the 2026 Asian Games.

The two Mizo players were part of the Indian women's hockey team that won the gold medal at the Asian Games.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma congratulated the Indian team on its historic victory and particularly lauded Arjuna Awardee Lalremsiami for her contribution to the team's success.

He said the gold medal won by Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi marked a historic achievement for Mizoram, as they became the first Mizo sportspersons to win gold at the Asian Games.
