Guwahati: The Meghalaya government has sought assistance from the Union Health Ministry and the Parliamentary Consultative Committee to strengthen infrastructure for the Shillong Medical College and Hospital.

Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said on Friday that the department has already placed the project requirements before the committee as part of the brownfield development plan.

He explained that the upcoming medical college will require an administrative building, hostels for students, and laboratory facilities, all of which are expected to be ready within the next year.
