Guwahati, June 28 -- Authorities are aiming to complete Meghalaya's Rs 151-crore Shillong Ropeway project by late 2025, with construction now progressing after prolonged delays linked to legal proceedings and environmental approvals.

South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai visited the project site on Saturday to assess the pace of work, where officials from the implementing agency outlined the latest construction schedule and the remaining work required before completion.

The ropeway, connecting Lawsohtun to Shillong Peak, had remained pending for several years because of court scrutiny and the clearance process.
