Meghalaya HC seeks faster probe into August 19 violence, notes no further arrests beyond KSU office bearers
Guwahati, Aug. 25 -- The Meghalaya High Court has taken note of the lack of further arrests in connection with the violence reported on August 19, observing that only office-bearers of the Khasi Students Union (KSU) have so far been arrested.
A division bench comprising Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew and Justice Wanlura Diengdoh was informed about the cases registered over incidents of vandalism and assault. The court observed that while the investigation appeared to be underway, no additional arrests had been made apart from those of the KSU office bearers.
