Guwahati, Aug. 13 -- The Meghalaya government has said it is complying with all directions issued by the Meghalaya High Court in the ongoing case concerning pollution in Byrnihat.

The High Court is hearing a public interest petition on the issue. Joram Beda, Commissioner and Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, said the matter is currently before the court and that the government is following its directions.

The statement comes amid continued concerns over poor air quality in Byrnihat and its possible impact on the health of residents.

Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said the department has not received any written complaint from residents reporting respiratory problems linked to pollution.
