Guwahati, Sept. 22 -- The State Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has seized 40.12 grams of heroin valued at around Rs 7 lakh and arrested two persons in Shillong's Pynthorumkhrah area.

ANTF Superintendent of Police Vikash Kumar said on Monday that the operation was launched based on intelligence inputs about the transportation of narcotics from Silchar in Assam to Shillong.

Acting on the information, ANTF personnel were deployed at strategic locations. A vehicle bearing registration number ML-05-AD-1301 was intercepted at Pynthorumkhrah during the operation, Kumar said.
