India, Jan. 1 -- The Manipur Police commandos, with the assistance of central paramilitary forces, arrested an individual alleged to have links with the Group of Five (G-5), an alliance of five proscribed outfits, officials reported on Thursday.

Yumnam Heramani Singh, also known as Malem (41), a resident of Itam Nungoi Mayai Leikai under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East district, was arrested based on intelligence inputs indicating his association with underground outfits.

Police said he was arrested during an operation conducted at Keibi village under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East district on Wednesday. An Aadhaar card and some incriminating documents were seized from his possession.
