Imphal: The Manipur government on Monday issued an advisory to electronic, digital and social media platforms, directing them to ensure responsible dissemination of information and warning of strict action for violations.

In an order issued by the Commissioner (Home), the government expressed concern over the circulation of unverified, misleading and provocative content, including material attributed to banned or unauthorised groups, which it said could trigger panic and disturb public order.
