Imphal, July 9 -- The Government of Manipur has directed the advance lifting and distribution of foodgrains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) for August, September and October 2026.

All district authorities and the Food Corporation of India (FCI) have been instructed to complete the process by August 31, benefiting more than 20 lakh people across the state.

The move comes in compliance with directives issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.

Under the NFSA, Manipur has more than 5.8 lakh ration card holders, covering over 20 lakh beneficiaries.
