Guwahati, April 12 -- The Manipur government has extended the suspension of mobile internet services in five valley districts, continuing restrictions until 2:00 pm on April 14, 2026.

The order issued by the Home Department applies to Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, and Bishnupur districts, which include the state capital Imphal.

The move comes in the aftermath of an April 7 incident in Bishnupur district, where an explosion at a residential house in Moirang Tronglaobi killed two children, a five-year-old boy and a six-month-old girl, and injured their mother. The incident triggered unrest in parts of the valley.
