Imphal, Sept. 18 -- The Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, announced on his official Facebook page that he had, on September 17, felicitated Khaidem Shileima Chanu, the captain of the Indian Women's Junior Hockey Team, at his Secretariat.

The felicitation ceremony was organised to honour her leadership following the Indian team's victory at the recently concluded Junior Asia Cup 2026, held in Moqi, China.

The Indian Women's Hockey Team clinched the championship title after securing a 1-0 victory against the host nation, the People's Republic of China, in the final match.

Expressing pride in her achievement, Chief Minister Singh congratulated Chanu.
