Imphal, Aug. 17 -- In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has summoned the eighth session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly to meet at 11 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Assembly Hall in Imphal.

An official notification to this effect was issued by Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretary Rohit Sapam on Monday.

The announcement of the Assembly session comes amid reports of major political developments in the state, including an expected Cabinet expansion. Central BJP leaders, including National General Secretary and North East in-charge, are scheduled to visit Imphal ahead of the session.
