Imphal, Sept. 29 -- Police arrested two persons, including a minor, and seized a large quantity of codeine-based cough syrup during an operation at Kwakta Terakhongshangbi in Manipur's Bishnupur district, officials said on Tuesday.

According to police, personnel intercepted an Activa scooter on Monday and recovered 130 bottles of Vincof-Plus cough syrup containing 26 grams of Codeine Phosphate.

The scooter was allegedly being driven by 33-year-old Mouluvi Imran, who was accompanied by a minor on the pillion. Both were detained and taken to Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station, along with the seized medicines, for further investigation.
