Imphal, Sept. 13 -- Manipur Police arrested 56-year-old Sheleibam Yaima of Sekmai Parao on Friday in connection with the firing on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at Khonghampat Awang Leikai, officials said on Saturday.

A group of unidentified armed miscreants opened fire on CRPF personnel deployed at the location around 5:20 pm on September 10. No CRPF personnel were injured in the incident.

According to official sources, the attackers fired several rounds at the security personnel.

A case was registered at Sekmai Police Station following the attack, and police launched a search for those involved.

Police also recovered a Maruti Alto car bearing registration number MN05A-9332, which was allegedly used by the miscreants....
