Imphal, Sept. 22 -- Security forces in Manipur have arrested six active cadres of different insurgent groups and recovered arms, ammunition and explosives during coordinated operations across multiple districts, officials said.

In Tengnoupal district, a joint team of district police and Assam Rifles arrested three active cadres of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) near Border Pillar-87 on Monday.

The arrested individuals were identified as 21-year-old Ningthoujam James Singh alias Bibarel of Bishnupur district and 25-year-old Kshetrimayum Rustan Singh alias Thoihenba of Kakching district. The third person arrested was a juvenile.
