Imphal, Aug. 2 -- Security forces recovered and defused six improvised explosive devices (IEDs) near the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur and arrested three alleged cadres of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party-Meeyamgee Feengnag Lanmee (KCP-MFL) in separate operations over the past 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, assisted by a sniffer dog, carried out a search operation near Border Pillars 72 and 73 under Moreh police station in Tengnoupal district.

During the operation, the team recovered one 9mm pistol, one double-barrel gun, six radio sets, two hand grenades and six IEDs. The explosives were destroyed at the site.
