Imphal, July 10 -- Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer H. Gyan Prakash has been appointed Chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), according to a Raj Bhavan communique issued on Friday.

The appointment has been made under Article 316 of the Constitution of India. Gyan Prakash will hold office for six years from the date he assumes charge or until he attains the age of 62, whichever is earlier.

According to the communique, his pay, allowances and other service conditions will be governed by the Manipur Public Service Commission Regulations, 1972, as amended from time to time.
