Imphal, Oct. 1 -- Security forces and Manipur Police conducted a series of coordinated operations across the state on September 30, leading to the arrest of several suspected insurgent cadres, recruiters, an alleged extortionist and a vehicle lifter, officials said.

Acting on intelligence inputs about the alleged movement of a senior People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) [PREPAK (PRO)] cadre from Myanmar through Kamjong, security forces set up a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) in the Chandrakhong area.

During vehicle checks, personnel apprehended Moirangthem Boboy Singh alias Laingam, 56, who was identified as a self-styled captain of PREPAK (PRO) and a resident of Kakmayai Mayai Leikai.
