Imphal, Aug. 20 -- The Manipur government has ordered the closure of all schools, colleges and universities across the state from August 20 to 22, 2026, citing the prevailing law and order situation.

The directive, issued on August 19 by Education Department Commissioner-cum-Secretary Ningthoujam Geoffrey under the authority of the Governor of Manipur, covers all educational institutions across the state.

The closure applies to government, aided and unaided institutions, including schools affiliated with the Board of Secondary Education Manipur, Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, Central Board of Secondary Education and other boards.
