Imphal, Oct. 14 -- Vandalism broke out at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Manipur's Imphal after a 25-year-old woman died following childbirth. Her family refused to collect her body, demanding an apology from the doctors over alleged medical negligence.

The deceased, Thokchom Ongbi Binaroi of Keishampat Jailor Leirak in Imphal West district, died in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on October 13, hours after giving birth.

Her relatives staged a protest and damaged hospital property, including chairs, window panes and flower pots.
