Imphal, Aug. 6 -- Police and security forces, with support from the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), carried out a series of anti-liquor operations across Manipur on August 5, leading to the seizure of 519 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), large quantities of locally brewed liquor, and the detention of several individuals.

The biggest operation took place at Imphal International Airport, where police, acting on a tip-off from DESAM, intercepted 519 bottles of IMFL that had arrived on an IndiGo flight from Delhi. The liquor was allegedly transported in 90 pieces of luggage.
