Manipur: Naga bodies demand SIT probe after five civilians killed in Kangpokpi ambush
Imphal, Aug. 28 -- Naga civil organisations have demanded an independent probe, arrests of those responsible and stronger security measures following an ambush on the Imphal-Tamenglong Road in Manipur that killed five Naga civilians on August 27.
In a joint statement, the United Naga Council (UNC), Makui Village Authority and Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) urged the Manipur government and central law enforcement agencies to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to establish the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.
