Guwahati, Nov. 5 -- A Delhi court has granted interim protection from arrest to Congress MP and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) professor A Bimol Akoijam in a sexual harassment case. The court directed the police to give him seven days' notice before arresting him.

Special Judge Digvinay Singh of the Rouse Avenue Courts passed the order on Thursday. He said the Delhi Police must give Akoijam seven days' notice if they plan to arrest him in connection with the case. The protection will continue while the investigation is underway.
