Imphal, Aug. 27 -- Moreh's Naga community, displaced during the ethnic violence of 1992, has renewed its demand for repatriation and rehabilitation, urging the Manipur government to facilitate their return to their ancestral lands.

Speaking to the media in Imphal on August 27, Moreh Naga Village Authority chairman Marashang Hashuwoshi called for immediate government intervention to resettle the displaced families in their original village areas in Moreh.

Hashuwoshi also sought regular financial and material assistance for the displaced Nagas, on par with relief being provided to communities displaced by the ethnic conflict that began in Manipur on May 3, 2023.
