Imphal, Oct. 13 -- The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has extended its ultimatum to the government from October 10 to October 15, citing its willingness to pursue dialogue amid escalating tensions following the recent killings of two civilians.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Council expressed serious concern over the killing of Domkhonei Touthang on October 9, allegedly by Indian Reserve Battalion personnel, and the death of Ngamminlen Haokip on October 10, reportedly at the hands of NSCN-IM cadres.

The KZC said the two incidents had heightened insecurity and deepened anxiety within the Kuki-Zo community.
