Guwahati: The ongoing complete shutdown in Kuki-Zo inhabited areas has been extended from midnight of May 25, 2026, by Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and civil society groups in Kangpokpi.

The decision was taken at a Joint Council meeting, according to a statement issued on Monday.

KIM said the decision was taken at a Joint Council meeting, adding that authorities had failed to respond even after nearly 12 days of shutdowns, protests, and appeals linked to the killing of three Kuki-Zo church leaders and the alleged detention of several individuals.
