Imphal, Sept. 9 -- Under the directives from the governments at the Centre and state, the District Level Officers (DLOs) in Manipur's Kamjong have agreed to voluntarily adopt tuberculosis (TB) patients to provide crucial nutritional support, contributing Rs 1,000 per month per patient.

Kamjong district of Manipur shares borders with Myanmar to the southeast.

The decision was finalized during a review meeting chaired by Kamjong Deputy Commissioner (DC) L.N. Kashung at his Imphal camp office on Tuesday.

Under the initiative, aligned with the central government's Nikshay Mitra campaign under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, participating officers will contribute Rs 1,000 per month per patient for six months.
