Manipur: Indefinite blockade of Old Cachar Road withdrawn following talks with Joujangtek villagers

Imphal: Government authorities and leaders of Joujangtek village in Manipur's Noney district have reached an agreement to lift the indefinite blockade on the Old Cachar Road linking Jiribam with National Highway 37 after officials assured security for local farmers.
The blockade, imposed on June 19, followed an attack a day earlier in which unidentified armed men opened fire on farmers working in fields near Joujangtek village. A resident, identified as Nohjang Haokip, sustained bullet injuries to his arm and chest.
