Imphal: Panic gripped a locality in Manipur's Imphal East district after an explosion triggered by a grenade attack damaged property in the early hours of Saturday, officials said.

The incident took place at around 1:15 am at a residence in Kiyamgei Muslim Leikai under the jurisdiction of Irilbung Police Station. The explosive reportedly landed inside the compound of a local resident, resulting in a powerful blast that damaged a parked vehicle and portions of nearby buildings.

Although the explosion caused significant property damage, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
