Imphal, July 13 -- Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Sunday said grassroots sporting events play a crucial role in identifying and nurturing young talent while addressing the closing ceremony of the inaugural Bishnupur District Olympic Games at Chengei Lampak in Moirang.

The multi-disciplinary event, organised by the Bishnupur District Administration in collaboration with the Bishnupur District Olympic Association, concluded with a grand ceremony celebrating athletic excellence and youth participation. The games featured competitions in 16 disciplines, providing a platform for budding athletes while promoting the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
