Manipur: Four Kuki civilians, including three women, killed in Kangpokpi attack
Guwahati, Aug. 31 -- Four Kuki civilians, including three women, were killed after armed men allegedly attacked Teikhang Kuki village in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, the Kuki Civic Action Committee (KCAC) said on Monday.
In a statement, the KCAC alleged that heavily armed men belonging to Liangmai groups and cadres of the NSCN-IM entered the village, opened fire on residents and set houses on fire.
The committee said one of the women was shot at close range while pleading for her life. It described the incident as targeted violence against Kuki-Zo civilians and sought an immediate, independent, high-level inquiry into the killings.
