Imphal, July 25 -- Flash floods have damaged low-lying areas in Manipur's Churachandpur district headquarters, leaving several residents facing hardships over the past two days, officials said.

Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar on Friday visited flood-affected areas of the district to assess the damage caused by flash floods that have been affecting the region since Thursday evening.

At Kerith village, which was inundated by the overflowing Khuga River, the Deputy Commissioner provided immediate assistance to affected families. He later visited L. Lhangnomphai village in the Tuibong block to provide further relief.
