Guwahati, May 11 -- The All Manipur Excise Employees Welfare Association has announced an indefinite cease-work strike from May 18 over the state government's failure to implement the Revised Pay (ROP) 2016 for excise department employees.
The organization stated in a notice on May 11 that the decision was made after the authorities' repeated appeals, guarantees, and representations failed to address the long-standing demand for a pay revision.
The association claims that despite constant follow-up with the relevant departments, the implementation of Revised Pay (ROP) 2016 for excise personnel has not yet been completed, which has increased employee discontent in Manipur's Excise Department.
