Imphal, Sept. 21 -- The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has urged the state government to hold immediate talks with the United Naga Council (UNC) to resolve the ongoing economic blockade that is disrupting essential supplies.

COCOMI warned that it would join the blockade if the state and central governments fail to restore security, protect civilians and deliver justice.

The committee criticized both governments for failing to resolve the conflict that began in May 2023. It cited security lapses, including unresolved killings, attacks on civilians and security forces, and the abduction of 18 Liangmai Naga women and minors in May.
