Imphal, Sept. 24 -- The Manipur Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, approved two key decisions on Wednesday, focusing on expanding dialysis facilities and revising compensation for land affected by power transmission projects.

Government spokesperson Dr Sapam Ranjan said the Cabinet approved the establishment of a 70-bed Manipur State Dialysis Centre at the State TB Hospital in Keirao, Imphal East.

The facility will operate under the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) and is aimed at addressing the shortage of dialysis infrastructure and reducing waiting times for patients. Preliminary site assessments have already been completed.
