Imphal, Aug. 11 -- The Manipur Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at the Civil Secretariat in Mantripukhri on Tuesday, August 11, approved a 12-point agenda covering healthcare, sports infrastructure, transport penalties, media welfare and administrative and legislative matters across the state.

The state administration decided to recommend September 2, 2026, as the date for the Governor of Manipur to summon the eighth session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.

The Cabinet also granted in-principle approval for the establishment of a state-run medical college in Senapati district. The proposed medical college is aimed at addressing healthcare gaps in remote areas and will have an annual intake capacity of 1...
