India, Nov. 21 -- A joint team of central and Manipur police apprehended an alleged drug smuggler from Assam and recovered contraband drugs worth approximately Rs 10 crore in the international clandestine trade along the Manipur-Nagaland border.
A vehicle with an Assam registration used to transport the illegal items was also impounded during the operation on Thursday, officials reported on Friday.
The security forces, comprising Assam Rifles, CRPF, and civil police, arrested the alleged drug smuggler, identified as AI Mamun (30), son of Sona Ulla, a resident of VTC-Batabari, PO Markula, PS Baguan, Sub-Division Balijana, District Goalpara, Assam.
