Manipur: ANSAM accuses security forces of using excessive force against Naga women protesters
Imphal, June 30 -- Fresh tensions have surfaced in Manipur's Kangpokpi district after the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) accused security forces of using excessive force against women protesters during a demonstration along the Imphal-Tamenglong Road at Thonglang on June 28.
In a statement, ANSAM alleged that personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Kangpokpi Police, led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), used force against unarmed women who were participating in a peaceful protest.
