India, March 20 -- An intelligence tip from Assam Police turned into a high-stakes operation as Arunachal Pradesh Police apprehended a 29-year-old man from Lakhimpur district for allegedly sending a death threat to the Chief Minister of Assam via WhatsApp.

The accused, identified as Krishna Dornal (29) from Lakhimpur district, was tracked down after Assam Police alerted authorities in Naharlagun about the alarming message.

Acting swiftly, a police team launched an intensive search and located Dornal at a wine shop in Naharlagun's A-Sector, where he worked.
