Guwahati, Oct. 20 -- Actor Kopil Bora is set to return to the big screen after a decade with Surjyamukhi, an upcoming Assamese romantic suspense thriller-drama that brings together a compelling story, an ensemble cast and a musical collaboration featuring some of Assam's well-known voices.

Produced under the banner of Dibya Cine Production, the film is based on a story by celebrated Assamese lyricist and writer late Birinchi Kumar Medhi and is scheduled for theatrical release on May 7, 2027.

Directed by Antara G.G. Choudhury, Surjyamukhi marks her debut as a feature-film director. A filmmaker, actor and theatre practitioner from Guwahati, Choudhury has spent years working across theatre, television, cinema and short-film production.
