Inter-Ministerial team arrives in Assam to assess flood damage
Guwahati, July 8 -- A six-member Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) arrived in Guwahati on Tuesday to assess flood damage in Assam, with field visits planned across six districts affected during the 2025 and 2026 flood seasons.
The delegation, led by Praveen Kumar Rai, Joint Secretary (UT) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, was briefed by senior officials of the Assam Revenue and Disaster Management Department and the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on the flood situation and the extent of damage caused over the past two years.
