Guwahati, Sept. 5 -- India women's captain Harmanpreet Kaur scripted history on Saturday, becoming the first cricketer,male or female to lead a team in 150 T20 International matches.

Harmanpreet reached the landmark during India's Women's Asia Cup 2026 Group A match against Pakistan in Dubai. The milestone further cemented her position as one of the most accomplished leaders in the shortest format of international cricket.

The 150th match as captain puts Harmanpreet well ahead of Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu, who has led in 121 T20Is. Australia's Meg Lanning follows with 100 matches, while England's Heather Knight and Rwanda's Diane Bimenyimana have each captained 96 T20Is.
