Dimapur, Oct. 9 -- Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Thursday said the historic agreement for the creation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), comprising six districts of eastern Nagaland, would open new avenues for inclusive development, stronger institutions, better infrastructure and greater opportunities for the people of the region.

The agreement was signed between the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation (ENPO), the Centre and the Nagaland government in New Delhi on February 5.

The Nagaland Assembly passed the FNTA Bill 2026 on September 3, incorporating new administrative arrangements and fulfilling a long-standing aspiration for greater development and empowerment in eastern Nagaland.
