Guwahati, July 25 -- Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation on Saturday, stating that the decision was taken to safeguard students' future and stop "anti-national forces" from taking advantage of the large-scale youth protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

Pradhan, whose removal was the main demand of the protesters, shared the announcement on X hours before the third round of discussions between the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and the Centre.
