Guwahati, July 16 -- The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the Centre and the Delhi government to ensure daily medical monitoring of environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, observing that every citizen's life is precious and that authorities must make every effort to safeguard it. At the same time, he continues his indefinite hunger strike.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia passed the direction while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking urgent medical intervention for Wangchuk, whose health has deteriorated after nearly three weeks of fasting.
