India, March 24 -- Opposition members from the Congress and CPI(M) on Monday staged a walkout in the Tripura Assembly to protest the introduction of a Bill for setting up a private university.

The Bill, which seeks to establish Dhanvantari Skill University, was tabled after the lunch break during the ongoing Budget session.

Opposition legislators objected to the move, stating that it was the fourth such Bill introduced in the session. Three similar Bills had been passed on March 20 despite their opposition, following which they had staged a walkout that day as well.
