Chandipura virus returns as 25 children die in Gujarat; health authorities intensify surveillance
Guwahati, Aug. 13 -- Gujarat is witnessing a fresh outbreak of Chandipura virus, with the infection claiming the lives of several children and prompting the state health authorities to intensify surveillance and preventive measures.
Recent reports indicate that more than 20 children have died after contracting the virus during the ongoing monsoon season. Health authorities have also reported dozens of confirmed infections among suspected cases, with children below 15 years accounting for the confirmed cases.
