Centre hands over Nagaland IED blast case to NIA
Dimapur, July 28 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the investigation into the July 13 IED blast in Nagaland's Chumoukedima district that killed an Assam Rifles personnel and injured four others.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Nagaland Police Headquarters said the Ministry of Home Affairs, through a communication dated July 27, had entrusted the investigation into the explosion case registered at Chumoukedima Police Station to the NIA.
The case pertains to the blast that occurred at Khopanala in Chumoukedima village on July 13.
According to the Centre, it formed the opinion that a scheduled offence under the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 had been committed in the case.
