Digboi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered strong victories across major constituencies in Upper Assam, strengthening its position in the region. Digboi MLA Suren Phukan secured a significant win in the constituency.

During the ticket distribution phase, Phukan faced opposition from some sections within the party, which led to internal differences over his candidature.

He later worked to address the disagreements and maintain unity within the party before the elections. After securing the party ticket, he went on to win the seat with a clear margin.
